She ran through the woods as fast as she could following the eagle she saw daily. She knew one day if her patience held out that she would be lucky enough to find an eagle feather that the great eagle would naturally drop. As she ran, she saw the eagle dive down into the forest straight ahead of her in the far distance. She kept running without losing pace and then stopped abrupty in her track as she finally saw what she had been waiting for. The eagle feather. She gently picked it up, admiring it slowly, lovingly, when she heard a little noise farther into the woods. She turned to the direction of the noise and started towards it. She saw the eagle laying upon the ground. She took the cherished feather and tucked it in her bodice, and slowly walked towards the eagle. Laying there his eyes looked at her and she knew the eagle was dying. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she said, “Please, please stay with me, I need you.”
She reached out her hands slowly, letting them heat up as she focused healing energy to the eagle. The warmer her hands became, the closer she moved them towards the eagle until she was gently touching him. Her tears, her energy flowed deeply into the eagle. Her compassion and love, moved the eagle as a golden glow began to form around him. She moved back a bit and watched the golden glow begin to grow bigger and brighter as the eagle began to shape shift into a human form, while his wings grew larger. His whole appearance was magnificent beauty, shimmering gold. His eyes were eyes that could pierce the soul, and he stared at the young woman. She stood there partly in awe, and partly in fear. She found that she could not move. The eagle man stepped towards her, his eyes fixated on hers. He reached out and pulled her close, then gently wrapped his wings around her. Immediately, she felt the warm essence of pure love, joy, and peace that flowed through every fiber of her being. She did not know how long the eagle man held her, but when he released her, he reached down and took the feather that stuck out from her bodice, and gently replaced it with one of his golden feathers. She looked down and gently touched the feather, and when she looked back up, the eagle man was gone. She smiled and turned towards home, for she knew they would meet again.
